DARTFISH AND TRAINING:

Dartfish software was used by over 400 medal winners in the London 2012 Olympics. There are so many features in Dartfish that a coach or athlete can use to fine tune or even re-vamp their training, many don’t know where to start. Before we introduce you to our favorite Dartfish features, let us first say a word about the training that one can purchase with the software. First and foremost–get the TRAINING! Today’s feature is alone worth purchasing Dartfish’s TeamPro version of the software: Dartfish EasyTag!

EasyTag

This capability is one of our favorites, and is yet another example of how the scientists behind Dartfish technology know what athletes and coaches really need.

Say, “Goodbye!” to 15 minutes of action crammed into 2 hrs of game film. The EasyTAG app can be set in minutes, and have one or several tag boxes. Coaches tap the screen when they watch an event. Those tagged moments are condensed to make an action-only “game film.”

Basically, EasyTag allows a coach to take his eyes off the cameras, computers and monitors, and actually watch the athlete or athletes perform in training or in an actual competition. Every time a coach-able action takes place, all the coach has to do is tap the screen of his mobile device. Each “tap box” can represent specific actions that the coach designates before the event. For example in tennis, “backhand”, “serve”, and “point” can be the tag boxes. In the example in the image on the left, the screen has been set up by the coach before a football/soccer match. He or she decided what was important to capture and condense into coach-able actions. He or she decided on even what color and what to name each “tap box”. Notice the ipad screen in the image. The numbers in parentheses shows how many times the coach tapped each box.

EasyTag works hand-in-hand with several other Dartfish features, and in no way interferes with the famous video analytics capabilities that over 400 London 2012 medal winners used to increase their performance. The tagged events condense into a short, action-packed video; but the whole event is still recorded and available for analysis in StroMotion, SimulCam, and the other award winning functions that Dartfish is famous for.
